Re-watch: Design for life. RSA coffeehouse event
21 May 2025. Online and in-person at RSA House, London
As part of the RSA’s Design for Life events series, Dr Patrina Law (Lifelong Learning Lead at the RSA and manager of the Digital Badging Commission) introduces an update to the RSA Badge Standards and explores a suite of new exemplar digital badges produced by the Digital Badging Commission.
Originally developed in 2019 as part of the Cities of Learning programme, the RSA Badge Standard helped badge earners and issuers understand the value and context of non-accredited learning achievements in place. But the digital credentialing landscape has evolved—and so has the RSA Standard.
Complementary to this, the Digital Badging Commission has developed a set of exemplary, fictional digital badges and free to use templates. They aim to provide guidance and practical resources to those seeking more information about what exemplary looks like in terms of issuing their own meaningful digital badges, across a variety of sector use cases.
