The work of the Commission is focused around five key workstreams, each supported by our commissioners and a programme of engagement with external stakeholders.

As part of our work we have convened multiple workshops, with more scheduled for early 2025, bringing together stakeholders from across the education and skills sectors, government, the tech industry, the NHS and beyond.

Insights from our workshops to date have echoed much of what was found in our landscape review and through our ongoing conversations with stakeholders, but have also highlighted many relatable examples and provided an opportunity to drill down into successes, challenges and future aspirations around the use of badges and digital credentials.

The various sectors issuing digital badges do so for a variety of purposes but are managing their relationship with badging technology in different ways. There are many success stories out there, but significant further opportunities to grasp.
